Representing Pott Augusta Judo club in under 13s were Alex Miklavec, Mathew Wilson, Sam Parnanzini and James Campbell.

In under 16s were Sophie Burch, Callan Niedorfer, Mathew Freeman, Kagan Miklavec and Ben Lindner and in young men and seniors were Nathan Freeman and Leigh O'Shaughnessy.

Alex Miklavec fought well in under 13s to take second place behind N Dunn of Parrafield Gardens.

Sam Parnanzini and Mathew Wilson both contested the under 13 under 38kg division, the contest between these two young athletes was the best in the junior competition.

Sam and Mathew demonstrated good technique and determination through out the fight with Sam coming out as the eventual winner.

James Campbell fought in the under 13 under 42kg division.

James improves with every competition he attends and played well to finish second.

Sophie Burch competing in her first tournament as an under 16, unfortunately injured her shoulder and was forced to withdraw.

Callan Niedorfer fought in the under 16 under 55kg division.

All athletes in this weight group were state team members.

In a very close contest for first place Callen out scored his opponent maintaining his advantage for most of the fight.

But with only seconds to go Callan's rival scored enough to snatch first place away.

Mathew Freeman our only athlete in under 16 under 60kg division fought hard to take second place against tough opposition.

Kagan Miklavec fighting in under 16 under 73kg proved to be to strong for opponents to secure first place.

Ben Lindners, the only competitor in under 90kg was forced to withdraw injured.

Fortunately one of the senior men agreed to compete.

Ben dominated the fight with strong gripping taking control from the start and throwing his opponent for a win.

Nathan Freeman competing in young mens and seniors had a slow start to the day in the senior competition unable to secure a place.

In the young mens division Nathan dominated winning all of his fights.

In the seniors Port Augusta coach Leigh O'Shaughnessy fought in the under 73kg division this weight group was the biggest in the tournament.

Leigh fought his way into the final against Mathew Case of Adelaide who was the eventual winner.
