Fire being investigated

The editor,

In response to Wednesday's story 'Resident fears for safety after fire causes $10,000 damage' let me reassure your readers that Housing SA takes the safety of our tenants extremely seriously.

The fire is currently the subject of a police investigation after the initial findings appeared to be that an electrical fault might have been the cause.

Authorities are now investigating if the fire was deliberately lit.

We are thankful Ms Treloar and her family were not home at the time of the fire and escaped injury.

Repairs will be carried out as soon as possible to return the Treloar family to their home.

Let me again reassure all of our tenants that safety is a priority for Housing SA.

If any tenant has concerns about the safety of their house, they are encouraged to contact Housing SA on 131 288.

Chris Kennett
