Port Augusta radio bases close

4/07/2008 2:12:00 PM
Due to the retirement of our radio base personnel in Port Augusta, our radio bases have closed as from July 1, 2008.

Coast Guard does intend to open another base hopefully before the start of the boating season and notice will be given of this.

Until this happens, boaters using VHF radio will be better to use the repeater on channel 82 and call Coast Guard at Port Pirie or Port Broughton.

Users on 27meg can but try on channel 88.

If there is an emergency, please call the police on 8648 5020.

We apologise for the inconvenience, but as volunteers we can only do our best.

For any call for help, please phone the Port Augusta Coast Guard on 0458 574 115
