I Shane McMahon would personally like to thank the Port Augusta residents for signing and putting their support behind the petition displayed in many shops and businesses over the past few weeks.

There were more than 3000 names showing support but it doesn't stop there, you will see the same petition with changes to the charges to be introduced into the 2008/09 financial year rates of an increase from $120 to $150 for curb-side pickup.

I would like to see as many show support to this new petition.

Please keep an ear and an eye out for a meeting of some kind to discuss this ongoing penny pinching by the city council.
